When you become a member of Eckankar, you receive a discourse series for your personal study. You study one lesson a month at home.If you like, you can also join an ECK Satsang class to share experiences, insights, and questions.

By now, you are well familiar with the basic doctrines of ECK. But what have you gained? If it is only a mental grasp of the Sugmad (God), the ECK, and the Mahanta, then the best is still to come. You are now ready to unfold your spiritual vision.

The Letters of Light & Sound 1 Discourses are the next step in your spiritual training in ECK. In this series, we look at issues. You, even as Peddar Zaskq, are also getting ready to carry the message of Light and Sound to the people of the world. In your words and actions, they will see the Light of God. Some will ask about God and love and scores of other cares from their daily lives. And you need to know what to say.

This year of spiritual training will help you do that, as you grow in love and wisdom.

The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Book One, says: “The true gospel of ECK is to give every chela Truth. This truth is to lift him into the worlds of Light and Sound: the Kingdom of the Sugmad.”

This sets the pace for The Master 2 Discourses. With each lesson comes a monthly spiritual exercise that unfolds a new dimension within you.

A good teacher encourages his students to be self-sufficient. A student may hunt for years before he finally learns that it is impossible to graduate from learning or experience. A teacher may offer guidelines to living, but the student must himself accept the responsibility for getting an edge on his own life.

This is a new opportunity for unfoldment in ECK. If you have watched, you no doubt have seen how carefully the Mahanta has moved you into a more spacious universe of being.

In the past your attention was dedicated to what you might learn about yourself. Suddenly, the emphasis is changed. Now you wish to determine the real cause that forms the foundation of superficial causes. In other words, rather than wanting to know mainly about yourself, you now wish to discover the wholeness of life.

Perhaps you did not notice that your awareness has taken on wings and soared from a personal to a more universal point of view. This is the detached state. Rather than more apart from life, we are closer to it.

The purpose of the ECK Dream 1 Discourses is to open you to your own inner guidance. The Dream Master will bring you to a different kind of dream than you have ever known and can help you to understand what before were only jumbled dreams of little value.

In time, he will replace them with dreams of insight, wisdom, and knowledge. They are about the most important person in the world—you.
